Welcome to the Daddy.Guide’s Baby Jogger City Mini Stroller Review. Calling all parents who are always on the go. There is a lot to like about the City Mini starting with one of the best, if not the best folds ever. It truly is a one hand fold. Unlike it’s closest competitor, the Britax B-Agile 3, the City Mini is a one hand, one step process. It’s so compact that it fits in a mini cooper, so if you want something light, compact, spacious and car seat adaptable, this thing goes way beyond city dwellers.
The City Mini is almost as light as an umbrella stroller but it has all the features of a regular stroller. Don’t let the brand name fool you; Even though it’s made by Baby Jogger, it is not actually made for jogging. It is an everyday use stroller, recommended for babies 6 months and older. (50 pound weight limit) You can purchase a car seat adapter if you plan on using it with your newborn. Daddy 5-Point Review
Putting this stroller together is a no-brainer. The frame comes ready to go, just insert the wheels until they click.
This compact stroller looks like a jogger with its three 8″ hard rubber wheels. It’s a good looking stroller that is functional and won’t break the bank. It comes in a variety of colors: Black/grey, crimson/grey, evergreen/grey, purple/grey, sand/stone, steel grey, and teal/grey.
For a price point starting at $162.94 & FREE Shipping on Amazon, it’s definitely a head turner and I’ve heard it’s been repeatedly featured on some of the celebrity gossip websites, er, so my my wife tells me. If celebrities like Naomi Watts, Toby Maguire, and Matthew McConaughey have been spotted with the City Mini, you know it’s not a ‘status’ stroller like the Bugaboo for under 200 bucks.
To round out the Babby Jogger City Mini, it sports a giant canopy that rivals the biggest on the market. I live in Florida and this thing is awesome all year round in the sunshine state. It has 3 sections that comes down very far and it has a second built in peekaboo window.
Ease of opening and Closing
The City Mini’s fold is probably the highlight of this stroller. It opens and closes very easily. Anyone can do it in a heartbeat. It also auto locks on the fold, which is nice when on the go. One of the primary factors in rating this stroller above the Britax B-Agile 3 is the fold. The B-Agile requires a 2 step folding process, the City Mini is super fast and super easy requiring just one pull on the handle. Love this thing!
It has an 8” lightweight front wheel to swivel for your daily ride or lock for long distance strolling. The front-wheel suspension is great for a smooth ride.
To see how the City Mini stacks up to Britax B-Agile 3 in terms of looks, and functionality, go check out our review on this stroller, which is also geared for the parent on the go. The B-Agile comes with a few extra feature for a slightly higher price.
- Seat recline to near flat position
- Vents and retractable weather cover
- UV 50+ sun canopy opens to multiple positions
- Two peek-a-boo windows
- Front wheel suspension
- Mesh pocket for essentials (phone, wallet, keys, etc.)
- 5 point harness. The City Mini has 5 point padded harness that attaches with clips to loops in the seat. To adjust the height, all you need to do is to hook it to a different loop. Mind blown!
- Automatic lock. Once you fold the stroller, it automatically locks. You don’t have to click anything in or wrap a strap. The automatic lock is a sweet feature.
