Chicco Keyfit Caddy ReviewWelcome to theDaddy.Guide’s Chicco Keyfit Caddy Review!  Looking for a low price, quality stroller frame that’s easy to use, and maneuver? Well, here it is!

Chicco’s Keyfit Caddy is the perfect car seat transportation, designed only for the Chicco KeyFit Infant Car Seat and Fit2 Infant & Toddler Car Seats.  So, if you haven’t already made your car seat purchase, I recommend you check out the Chicco brand. The overall quality and maneuverability of this stroller frame kicks butt and pretty much kicks it’s competitors to the curb too.  With only a slightly higher price point, the cost is nominal for the value.

The Keyfit Caddy is lightweight, folds flat, self-stands, auto-locks, and rolls like luggage while folded. The car seat attaches easily and securely. Right off the bat the Keyfit Caddy checks almost every box with this stroller frame and if I were to do it all over again, Chicco would definitely take my money.

Keep in mind the Keyfit Caddy is made for infants up to 30 pounds (until about 30 months for the average baby), so it’s a friendly investment for a few years to boot.

Daddy 5-Point Review

This frame comes almost ready for you to attach the car seat, with no removal of any parts or adapters necessary. The attachment of the seat is easy. You just need to place the car seat into the frame and press down. The connection is instant and secure. So, you won’t have to worry about the seat tipping over or anything like that.

The Look

The Keyfit Caddy has a lightweight aluminum frame with plastic components. It looks good when on the road, but I would say it’s primarily best for it’s practicality.

Ease of opening and Closing

Folding and unfolding is easy. Folding requires the removal of the car seat. You won’t need to bend to fold the stroller, which you will feel thankful for later on. You just press the release button and give it a shake until it opens.  Unfolding the Caddy can be done with one hand and Chicco has made the process super easy. Again, there is no bending to unfold, and all you need to do is press the release button and lift and shake until it clicks open.

Once folded it is very compact, fitting in your trunk, no matter how small it is.  The Caddy weighs in at 11.7 lbs without the car seat attached.

Even though the Caddy has suspension on all four wheels, which is impressive considering the price point, you can’t expect it to stroll around like a regular stroller off road. Like the Baby Trend Snap N Go the Caddy is at it’s best when on flat surfaces, and not on grass or gravel.  Also like the Snap N GO, it has double action brakes that must be set individually to be fully parked.

  • Parent tray with two cup holders

All in, you can add an additional three more pounds of supplies in the parent console.  As with a lot of the stroller frames, the cup holders are shallow and my personal recommendation wouldn’t be to put a $5 frappaccino in there.  I do like the small covered tray for a set of key and/or a phone however.

  • 4-position, height-adjustable push handle

The handlebar is covered in rubber and is conveniently adjustable.  There is a release button at the point the handle connects to the frame that allows the bar to  pivot point between 37.1 inches and 42.2 inches from the ground.

  • All-wheel suspension
  • Toe-tap locking brakes
The Caddy has double action brakes (aka, double the work to lock them both down).  Esentially you have to press down both pedals to engage the brakes.  They’re relatively easy brakes are easy to set and release, my only suggestion would be a single level design would lock down both wheels at once.

  • Large Storage Bin – holds up to 10 pounds

The Chicco Caddy is equip with a large storage bin that can hold a serious amount of stuff. Easily accessible from the front and back (not as much from the sides as the car seat will block some of the access.  The maximum allowable weight for the bin is 10 pounds, which isn’t a huge amount of weight in comparison to a non-stroller frame stroller, however, diapers don’t tend to weigh much and you can store a lot of them underneath.
