Graco SnugRider Elite ReviewWelcome to the Daddy.Guide’s Graco SnugRider Elite Review.  To cut to the chase, I like this stroller frame.  But before we break it down, let me share a few things upfront. This a lightweight frame stroller that only accepts Graco infant car seats.   It will fit in your trunk easily and it basically does it’s job without overly impressing. I would say, it’s an average stroller for a budget-friendly price and it certainly will get its job done.

If you’re considering  the SnugRider because you already own a Graco carseat, or are looking for something within the price range, it’s a very fair option.  Here’s what’s in store for you.

Here are the compatible Graco seats for this frame: Graco SnugRide Click Connect 30,  Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35, Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40; Graco SnugRide Click Connect 30 LX, Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35 LX

Daddy 5-Point Review

Small win upfront, putting this product together is a no-brainer. It comes almost fully assembled and it will take you a few minutes to adjust the extra parts. Promise!

The Look

It has a pretty simple, clean look to it with an aluminum frame. The stroller frame only comes in black but you can personalize it with your choice of Graco car seat. Accessories include a parent tray, which is fairly convenient except for the cups are a bit too shallow and it gives me the feeling that my drink might spill or fall off mid stroll. Also comes with a nice sized storage basked under the seat which works well for those drinks if you’re not comfortable with the parent tray.

Ease of opening and Closing

Opening and closing is relatively easy with the press of a button.  The first one we reviewed was occasionally getting jammed for some reason when pressing the fold button.  I wanted to see if this was the M.O. of this stroller or if it was this particular unit, so I exchanged the product for a new one and low and behold it didn’t have that issue.  My advice, test the fold button and make sure it’s 100% functional. If you don’t encounter this tiny malfunction, you’re good to go and it opens up and closes with the press of a button.  If you experience the fold button jamming, you probably can make due with a little extra force sometimes, but I’d recommend getting one that works properly in the event yours doesn’t.

Once folded, its lightweight frame is a relief when you have to put it away in your trunk daily. It also stands on its own and has an automatic storage lock, which entirely facilitates all the parental multi-tasking.  Lastly, the fold is also very compact, so storage is not an issue.

When it comes to attaching the car seat, you would think a Graco stroller frame exclusively made for Graco car seats would go together like pizza and beer. But, I found this not to be the case. It does the trick most times. But I have inserted the car seat onto the frame and heard it click, only to realize the back side is attached while the front is not.  So, you have to try and tumble it out of the seat, to make sure it is fully attached before putting your child inside. The ‘click’ is my signal that we are secure and locked in, but the SnugRider needs an extra press to make sure it’s locked in. My advice would be to grab the car seat handle and give it a tug an double check the seat is locked in.  So that’s a potential issue, now you know!

Like most stroller frames, the SnugRider does well on smooth surfaces but not so much on rough terrain.  I can’t knock the SnugRider here too much for that as most stroller frames don’t perform exceptionally on rough terrain, and babies under 6 months probably shouldn’t be ‘off-roading’ all that much anyway. 🙂

Though it has a four wheel suspension and bigger wheels than most stroller frames, it isn’t able to withstand a lot of bumps or high impact so let’s just keep this one away from the grassy parks.

The bottom line for the SungRider is it shouldn’t be abused or else it might not last.  The one I have is now going on our second child and still going strong, albeit, if we have a 3rd I’d almost certainly purchase something different.
