Thule Urban Glide Sport Stroller Review
Welcome to the Thule Urban Glide Sport Stroller Review. It’s time to get some fresh air, and by that I mean don’t let having kids make you get fat! And what better way than enjoying the outdoors alongside your little ones? The Thule Urban Glide Sport is a fine baby jogger for a safe, easy and, all terrain wild ride. Whether you’ve got muddy trails ahead or surprise showers, the Urban Guide Stroller’s strong build and lightweight design makes it easy to maneuver even in the roughest conditions.
The Thule Urban Glide Sport Stroller is high up on our jogging stroller list falling JUST short to the 2017 BOB Revolution Pro stroller that theDaddy.Guide reviewed also (check it out for yourself!). So let’s cut to the chase and see how this thing measures up on the Daddy 5-Point Review.
Daddy 5-Point Review:
The Urban Glide comes assembled, except for the rear wheels. Fortunately, no handyman skills are required. With the press of a button, they slide right on. High marks here for an almost no hassle assembly! Once again you’ll spend more time un-boxing than putting it together.
It’s a sweet stroller, no doubt there. It’s sleek and minimalistic and is available in Dark Shadow (grey), Mars (red), and Thule Blue, using high quality fabrics. See images below:
Its three oversized bicycle type wheels, give the stroller a sporty look. Its narrow frame enables it to fit just about anywhere. My one concern, however, is as my oldest is growing I’m noticing bigger children may feel somewhat tight in the narrow seat. The bars of the canopy are also built inside of the stroller, leaving the little ones less room when the canopy is pushed back. Bottom line here is if you’re hauling a big boy around… you may want to take note of that, other than that, this baby is gorgeous!
Ease of opening and Closing
The Urban Glide provides a one-handed compact fold for storing and transporting. You might have to practice a few times to get the hang of it at first, but otherwise its quick and easy. It breaks down more compactly than some of the other jogging strollers on the market. I’ve also noticed that removing the wheels on some of the other jogging strollers doesn’t make the stroller much smaller. The Thule Urban Glide Sport Stroller’s wheels are extremely easy to remove and allows for much easier and more minimal storage (car trunks, tiny closets, etc…). They’re living up to the ‘Urban’ name. Nice work, Thule!
Overall, the Urban Glide is a quality bad-a$$ jogger, especially when compared to many others on the market. Its strong build and narrow but strong structure provides a long lasting product that can definitely be used for future children. YES, AN INVESTMENT! (with a limited lifetime warranty on the frame and 1-year limited warranty on the fabric).
***theDaddy.Guide tip*** If you’re on your first child and your contemplating one of these, I would say get it now. This baby will last a long time and I made the mistake of waiting til we had our second child and missed out on 18 months of fun with our first.
The stroller’s joints lock with a satisfying click (you know exactly what i’m talking about!), and there is no bend or sway where there shouldn’t be.
Additionally, it only takes the twist of a knob to switch between a swiveling front tire and a locked front tire. The name does this stroller justice, since it literally glides through any landscape. Its rear suspension enables up to 35mm of travel for a smooth and comfortable ride.
- Ergonomic handlebar can be adjusted to fit a range of heights
- Front tire valve curved so it’s easily accessible with any pump
- Wrist strap comes attached
- Large storage area with water-resistant cover (see image):
- Padded seat with vented top reclines to a near flat position in case your baby doses off along with a secure 5 point harness.
- Multi-position canopy for added protection with view-in roof (peek-a-boo) port to see your child
- Front fender to help deflect mud splatters
- Contains two child pockets, perfect to store for a sippy cup or small toy
- The back of each stroller has a large mesh pocket, which is convenient to carry a
- blanket or jacket (Preparation is the key to a nice, uninterrupted jog!)
